I'm perplexed, why should people blindly vote Democrat? I am 50 years old now - name an democratic initiative that has been implemented in which it has advantaged this nation?
Nancy Pelosi refused to impeach George W. Bush for lying us into the Iraq war. That war killed between 100,000 and 1,000,000 Iraqis over a lie. Yet, she was perfectly willing to try to remove Trump twice, over entirely trivial matters.
Obama was elected under the banner of "Hope and Change" and he went from bombing Afghanistan and Iraq - to bombing Pakistan, Yemen, Somalia, Libya, and Syria. Do you know why the US was actually bombing Syria? It's because a company called Genie Energy made an agreement with Israel to mine the oil resources of the Golan Heights - Syrian land under Israeli occupation. It had nothing to do with "Assad gassing his people" - EVEN if he did, and it's unlikely. We know the Douma chemical attack never happened, it's quite possible the Ghouta chemical attack never happened or was a false flag staged by the CIA or Mossad or Mi6 of some terrorist group under their wing.
Go find out who is in the "Strategic Advisory Board" of Genie Energy. That's who Obama was working for when he was murdering Syrians. Every war the US enters since 2000 has begun with a lie - doesn't matter who is the meat puppet pretending to be president.
The republican party is not the answer, but 4 years ago, you had a classic 1960's Democrat run for the Republican nomination and won the presidency, because he was running against an evil Neocon warmonger named Hillary Clinton. Because of her policies as secretary of state Libya now has slavery markets.
The result of having this lifelong classic democrat as president was 4 years of endless propaganda, obvious propaganda, blatantly obvious propaganda. I learned in that time that the "liberals" I once identified with have no morals and no principles. Now we really have a president that should be removed by the 25th amendment, but of course his only real job is reading a teleprompter and taking orders from the military industrial complex - that's our real president, just as it was when Obama was "president", just as it was when George W. Bush was "president".
I would be cautious taking advice from Martin Luther King - anybody promoted by our propaganda machines should be approached with caution. I wish more people would read Malcolm X.

Nova Scotia is one of the worst provinces for stripping freedoms. We elected a right of center party in my province of Nova Scotia in August and I hoped things would change. Instead, we got a Vax mandate and passport-esque system in October, we are still wearing f**king masks by fiat, still being warned of more possible lockdowns. My province has maintained a technical “State of Emergency” for over 18 months, essentially suspending rights, and they just auto-renew it every 2 weeks…
I had hope, but the supposed right-of-centre gov is identical to the left-of-centre on it replaced. :(
And no one cares. 80% poll for vax mandates, so here we are… there is no backlash, no lamenting the abrogation of our rights and no ability to do basic math around the C19 topics.
You are lucky in the US. I can only pray we wake up here soon, as I’m a single dad and can’t move away until my kids are older - so I’m stuck in this authoritarian banana republic.

I think he has it backwards a bit. The only plank in the Demos platform was to get rid of Trump! And they used anger and everything else to create a huge dislike/hatred. (Not that Trump doesn't deserve it. :-). But overall, there was no other Demo platform -- and we've now endured the most reckless spending of money and various other authoritarian moves that the country is in far worse shape. Of course we didn't have a choice for President that was really exciting or promising, but that's no excuse for voting on a hatred basis rather than an objective basis.
I wish beyond hope that we could simply debate issues with real facts and come to conclusions that make sense - even if it's not what I would do.
I became an political independent ten years ago, it was liberating to not feel like I had to make excuses for inept behavior of politicos just because we were the same tribe. When people attack you're tribe, you defend - even if you suspect you're tribe is wrong.
I know how many people love Trump.. I work around lots of them. But CRAP. The guy is toxic. I was test driving a car with a guy who was from El Salvador, I was talking to him in Spanish, and he got off on Trump - says he talks "mierda" about hispanics. This was a hard working dude that's been doing the same job for 13 years. He doesn't care what Trump's policies were, he just knows that he dissed on his people. Some women see trump as the ultimate bully and if they've had male bullies in their life, that's all they see. They can't vote for him.. ever. Can't win without the Hispanics and Women... can't do it.
Today Trump puts out a communication.. Youngkin only won because of Maga... Trump could have been a gracious statesman - instead pure narcissism.
I detest the woke because anybody that disagrees with them is BAD (racist/sexist/homophobe/bigot/gun-toting-bible-hugging-deplorable). Real debate with them is impossible.
Compare that to Trump... Anyone who disagrees with him is BAD. Bad actor, bad politician, ugly, whatever.. Always some trolling insult about them. Real debate with him is impossible.
I HOPE the classic liberals can reclaim their party. I hope that then there can be real debate. I know if the conservatives stereotype all Dem's as the same, that the classic liberals will defend their tribe and keep tolerating their woke cohort. With graciousness and kindness and some space, perhaps, the classic libs can regain their party..
Yea, I kinda doubt that will work out, that we're too far gone. But I don't see a path to normalcy/civility by treating the D's like the D's have treated the R's. And I certainly don't see a path to normalcy and civility if R's renominate Trump.
